Payment methods
Proper supports multiple payment methods to help you collect payments efficiently across markets and channels.
Bank transfer
In Proper, each contract is assigned its own virtual bank account (vIBAN or vBBAN). The unique account number is shown on every invoice the customer receives.
When customers transfer money to their unique account, invoices are automatically reconciled with incoming payments. This removes the need for customers to enter any invoice references when paying via bank transfer.
Leverandørservice
Enable Leverandørservice as a payment method to collect payments directly from your customers' bank accounts. This is well-suited for B2B agreements where customers authorize recurring debits via their bank. Proper handles mandate management, payment initiation, and status tracking.
When a customer has an active mandate for Leverandørservice or Betalingsservice, Proper will automatically collect payments on the due date of the customer's invoices.
Betalingsservice
Add Betalingsservice for Danish customers to collect payments from their bank accounts via PBS/Nets. Ideal for recurring invoicing: Proper manages mandates, schedules collections, and reconciles payments automatically.
Card payments via Stripe
Accept card payments using Stripe - both for one-time charges and recurring payments.
- One-time payments: Customers can pay individual invoices with their card.
- Recurring payments: Customers can set their card up for recurring payments. Proper then automatically charges on renewal on the due date using Stripe’s mandates and tokens.
When Stripe is enabled as a payment method for a customer, they receive their invoices with a link to pay via a Stripe checkout page.
Automatic handling of chargebacks
Chargebacks and disputes are detected and synchronized automatically. Proper updates the invoice/payment status, records dispute events, and can trigger follow-up actions.
If you want help enabling any of these payment methods, contact your contact person at Proper.
